Interview with the LAN Champion & MVP from team NEWERA.
Thank you very much. Honestly, lifting the trophy is always an amazing feeling — and I hope it’s something that continues in the future.
The key to our success was definitely the time and effort we invested. We focused both on tactics and mental preparation. We also played a lot of online matches against different teams to sharpen our game sense and team coordination.
I’d say it’s because we've been playing together with the same lineup for years. We know each other inside and out — how everyone “breathes” on the map — and that makes everything much smoother. It really shows in our results.
Honestly, I didn’t expect it — but I definitely aimed for it. I put in a lot of individual practice before the LAN, so I’m glad it paid off.Was there any opponent you were especially worried about going into the event? There were a lot of strong teams, but I wouldn’t single out anyone as a major threat. We came in confident in our preparation.
Over the years, we’ve learned how to handle high-pressure situations. We’ve worked hard on building a strong mentality, especially for comebacks — and that really helped us stay composed.
I’d probably highlight the match against KOMPLEKSiii. It really pushed us.What was your favorite moment from the LAN? Definitely the final round before winning the whole thing — and of course, celebrating with the team right after. That feeling is unforgettable.
Honestly, I think this is the biggest CoD2 has been in the past 5–10 years. A lot of old teams are returning, especially with the upcoming Major. The new PAM mod has brought in fresh interest too, and I really believe the future of the game is looking bright.
Yes, definitely. Our focus now is on the Major in November, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest CoD2 LANs ever.
