Interview with the member of second team MiCRO.
Since we were a new lineup, the primary goal was to reach top 3. Once we achieved that, the pressure eased up, which made things easier for us. We knew we were good enough to make the finals, but we also knew a team like KOMPLEKSiii was just as strong, so we didn’t expect an easy path.
Since we had already locked in top 3, we were more relaxed going into the match. We had achieved our main goal and were satisfied, which helped us enter the match against KOMPLEKSiii with a clear head. We knew how we wanted and needed to play against them.
As I mentioned, I think KOMPLEKSiii were under much more pressure the entire match. They’ve been considered favorites alongside NEWERA for the past few tournaments, and they showed their level against teams like MARTIANS. Regardless, we kept believing we were good enough to win, stayed calm, and tried to stay as focused as possible even when we were far behind.
I think we’ve got a great team vibe — that’s what kept us going. Aside from the tactics we managed to prepare in the short time we played together before the LAN, we always respect each player’s input at the start of each round and keep motivating each other. It’s super important to feel support from your team, especially when someone’s having a rough game, and that’s something we definitely have.
It was 15-13 for KOMPLEKSiii on Carentan, they were Axis side, and kikozje was left in a 1v2. We honestly thought it was over — it’s super hard to clutch in that situation — but he pulled it off. That clutch brought us back to life, and after that, we wanted the win even more. Of course, there were plenty of other clutches and key moments, but I think that one was the turning point.
We were extremely happy with everything. The organization was top-notch, and we had zero issues with the PCs, which made it much easier for everyone to focus and feel comfortable. Beyond the LAN itself, we had a great time chilling at the apartment before, during, and after the event.
Not really — I’ve played with each of them before and knew exactly what to expect. Each player had their moments and stepped up when it mattered, doing exactly what we planned. I’d maybe say I was slightly surprised when antal4$ picked up the scope on Carentan… but I learned my lesson!
Honestly, the only thing we’re missing right now is more matches played together. Unfortunately, we lost about 3 weeks of prep time because Dubzera was traveling. I think if we push a bit harder and get some more practice before the next major tournament, there’s a real chance we could go even further.
